| Il Borgo di Sutri is much more than a Hotel and Restaurant: it is a magical place where history has left its indelible mark on both nature and architecture and where our guests are able to enjoy total relax and first class dining together with quality service and courtesy. Our Restaurant furnished in a warm and welcoming style: its various number of dining areas and terraces and a large wooded well lit private parking area, make it an ideal setting for wedding banquets, small personal gatherings, work lunches and diners or romantic candlelight suppers. All the rooms have a colour TV, fridgebar, direct dial telephone, air conditioning and spacious bathrooms with Jacuzzi baths or showers.
Some of the rooms have delightful balconies and small terraces where you can have breakfast while enjoying the splendid view of the surrounding park.
• The Suite - A mini apartment consisting of a small lounge with a comfortable divan which can be transformed into a bed if necessary, a large window, a chest of draws and wardrobe in solid wood, a corridor, bathroom with the choice of a Jacuzzi bath or shower and finally a spacious bed room with the window looking out onto the surrounding garden. Places of interest:
• Sutri (Viterbo) with its Etruscan and Medieval monuments and ruins is placed only 2Km away form the Hotel. The Amphitheatre, which is completely dug out of the tufa rock, is one of the more suggestive monuments and dates back to end of the 1st century BC and the first ten years or so of the 1st century AD. The Cathedral, built in 1207, the Porta Franceta or Porta Vecchia (the town’s gateway), Villa Staderini, built in the 18th century, the ruins of Charlemagne’s castle, la Madonna del Parto, a church dug out of the rock and not far from the urban necropolis which consists of 64 various types of Roman tombs, all contribute in making this town a site of rare suggestiveness and beauty. The summer season includes the Sutri Beethoven Festival, the Roman Festival with Gladiatorial games in the Amphitheatre and the Sutri Bean Festival in September.
• Calcata (Viterbo) overlooking the Valle del Treja and built on the tufa rock, is of overwhelming beauty and very suggestive, leaving the impression of time standing still.
• Bracciano (Viterbo) with its beautiful lake and the Odescalchi Castle appears to be curiously watching over the other lakeside towns of Anguillara and Trevignano.
• Lago di Vico (Viterbo) the lake is of volcanic origin and is surrounded by the Monti Cimini woods. A zoogeography protected area, splendid and fascinating.
• Caprarola (Viterbo) is the home of the magnificent Farnese Palace (Palazzo Farnese), a pearl of Renaissance architecture. Renaissance music concerts are held from June to September.
• Nepi (Viterbo) is rich in historical sites including the Etruscan-Roman necropolis, the remains of an amphitheatre and the spa belonging to the Gracchi family and also the catacombs of Saint Savinilla. The famous spring “Acqua di Nepi”, widely known for its naturally fizzy water, bottled and exported throughout all Italy, is to be found here. |

• From the north: Motorway A1 exit nr. 34 (Magliana Sabina). Follow the indications for Civita Castellana, Nepi and the S.S. 2 Cassia for Sutri. The road brings you out directly onto the S.S. 2 Cassia right in front of IL BORGO DI SUTRI.
• If you are arriving from Rome or Fiumicino airport; take the Raccordo Anulare (GRA) until Exit no. 5 (Cassia Veientana) in the direction of Viterbo. IL BORGO DI SUTRI is on the left, Km. 46,700, 3Km after the Le Querce Golf Club.
• If you are arriving from the coast: take S.S.1 Aurelia to Tarquinia then follow indications for Viterbo as far as Vetralla. Take the S.S.2 Cassia, Rome direction. IL BORGO DI SUTRI in on the right 2Km after Sutri.
