From Pisa Airport: highway direction Genova A12 (10 km), get exit Pisa Nord / Firenze highway A11, get exit Lucca (roughly 15 km), then follow the SS12 direction Castelnuovo Garfagnana - Barga (roughly 45 km) Always the left bank of the river. From Florence: highway A11 direction Genova, get exit Lucca, then follow SS445 direction Castelvuovo Garfagnana. (km 45) Always the left bank of the river. Just after Gallicano turn right in SS445 and then right after the bridge, turn left to Castelvecchio Pascolo and follow the sign "Il Ciocco" (up on the Hill)
