Arba at Ashar is the old name for Arbatax, in Sardinia, set along the eastern coast which is an island intact within the Island. It’s an Arab word and means the fourteenth tower, the fourteenth of those towers which stood sentinel along the coast to check Saracen invasions. It’s the magic word which will bring you to an island of coddling, relaxation and old-style hospitality. It’s the name of our hotel, elegant and secluded, just like a large villa. Arbatasar hotel welcomes you with a harmonious blend of warm, muted colours which invite repose after all that sun, sea and nature. You can relax here, there’s a pool for swimming or sunbathing, and with grateful care and attention we have preserved the shade of gnarled trees which have witnessed the passage of time and customs. And all this is planned to make you feel at home after your exploration of the Island’s splendid, unspoilt nature of the coast and mountains. From here, venture out to stroll through the narrow streets, among the small shops and down to the harbour, which has a magic all of its own because it is enfolded by a cascade of red porphyry rocks which plunge down into the emerald sea. A four-star hotel in the centre of Arbatax, near the tourist harbour. It is open year-round and has 45 double rooms, all with en-suite bathroom and air conditioning, direct telephone, internet connection, hi-fi, fridge bar, safe and TV. The Hotel also has a congress hall and meeting rooms, restaurant, bar, garden with swimming pool and a shaded, controlled parking lot. Our staff are available to provide information on places of interest to visit and routes, or to help you organise excursions or sports activities and, of course, to give you any other type of assistance you might need.
The Arbatasar restaurant offers international cuisine and dishes which our talented chef creates with the precious aid of the extra-fresh products of our Island and sea. In the area round Arbatax, the scenery is constantly changing. You can pass in a few minutes from gleaming white beaches to rocky inlets or sheer cliffs. Pay a visit to the interior on the Trenino Verde or along the routes which take you through the mountains. You will find traces of ancient history such as the menhir, the nuraghi and the domus de janas or those of more recent times such as the coastal towers. And finally, enjoy the life of the town and harbour, with its tiny shops, handicrafts and typical products. |
