Description
Known as a mining center since the 13th century, it is now a well-known summer and winter holiday resort and is located in the valley of the same name.

The communities that make up the widespread community of Zoldo Alto are grouped around both sides of the Maé River and are surrounded by the high Dolomite peaks of Cislope (3218 m), Mount Pelmo (3168 m) and Moiazza (2878 m). The lift facilities of the valley, divided into the two centers of Pecol and Palafavera, are connected with those of Alleghe and of Selva di Cadore. The 'Carousel of the Cislope' is formed by the union of these three different ski areas, a wide circuit which spreads over 80 km of slopes. Lovers of cross-country skiing have two slopes at their disposal: 'Mareson' and 'Palafavera,' respectively 3 and 5 km in length.
